The Seaside Ministry in Port Morant, Jamaica, began many years ago as a children's outreach ministry of Port Morant Methodist Church by Audrey Lindsay. Originally, Audrey tried to attract these children to church with no success. She deduced that the children would not come to church because their parents would not get up on Sunday morning to feed them breakfast. So, Audrey began serving breakfast to these children at church on Sunday morning. Over the years, we have assisted with this financially. Well, the Seaside children's ministry grew rather rapidly. As the children in the program have grown, the children have required assistance from us for school fees, uniforms, and supplies. This has been especially important as the children have entered high school.
What started as a children's ministry has now grown into an integral part of the Youth Ministry at Port Morant Methodist - which is also under the leadership of Audrey. This youth group is not only active in and around Port Morant, but is helping support youth groups in other communities.
