Teon is 5 years old. His parents abandoned him and for a short time, he was in an orphanage. His grandmother, Ms. Morrison, took him into her home, in a village called Seaside, in Port Morant, St. Thomas, Jamaica. Ms. Morrison's only means of support is her $30 (U.S. equivalent) monthly pension for the elderly. Teon plays in the alleys and around the Seaside village by the sea with other children. One of his favorite places is to get into a rusted junk car. He sits in the decaying seat among chards of glass, climbs over the rusty metal barefooted and pretends to drive the car. At other times, you may find him high in a tree.

When we first met him, we were asked to view their home and see if we could help. The roof was leaking tremendously, the rotten floor was falling in, and the porous siding on the side facing the sea was covered by old newspaper to help keep out the wind and the rain. Worse yet, there were pigeons living in Teon's room, roosting on his bed, on their small kitchen self, and around the cooking equipment.

We could not complete repairs immediately, but we made temporary repairs to stop the roof leaks, to keep the wind and rain from blowing in from the sea, and to make sure someone educated Ms. Morrison on the health hazards of allowing the pigeons to live in his room. Three months later, we returned, did selective partial demolition of there home and built a sturdy addition to their house that will keep the rain, the wind, and the pigeons out.

We know that God allowed Isaiahsixeight to make a difference in these people's lives.
